Safety

Slim Metrix Side Effects: What to Watch For

Quick answer

Slim Metrix side effects come from its ingredients, and most reported ones are mild.

They include stomach upset, sweating, nausea and poor sleep; liver injury from green tea extract is rare. Some ingredients can add to diabetes drugs or change other drugs. It is not meant for pregnancy, breastfeeding or anyone under 18.

Ingredient by ingredient

What are the side effects of Slim Metrix?

Nobody has published a study of Slim Metrix side effects. What we know comes from research on its ten ingredients, listed below in label order.

Most reported problems are mild. The serious ones are rare: liver injury, low blood sugar on top of diabetes medicine, and harm to newborns. Eight ingredients share one 276 mg blend with no single amounts (Slim Metrix label graphic), so nobody can say how much of each you swallow.

Reported side effects and cautions for each Slim Metrix ingredient, from the linked sources.
IngredientWhat sources report
ZincToo much over time lowers copper; the adult limit is 40 mg a day from all sources (NIH ODS: zinc fact sheet).
Alpha-lipoic acidNausea, vomiting and low blood sugar (MSK About Herbs: alpha-lipoic acid).
Green tea extractA rare but well-established cause of liver injury, usually 1 to 6 months after starting (LiverTox: green tea).
Milk thistleStomach upset; allergic reactions in people allergic to ragweed-family plants (NCCIH: milk thistle).
Chromium, berberine, resveratrolMainly drug interactions (see the medicines table below); berberine can also harm newborns (MSK About Herbs: berberine).
CayenneSweating and stomach irritation (MSK About Herbs: cayenne).
Korean ginsengTrouble sleeping is the most common; may interfere with blood clotting (NCCIH: Asian ginseng).
BanabaLittle safety research; one kidney-injury case report (Miura et al.: banaba and corosolic acid (review)).

No cinnamon row: it is not in the formula. See the Supplement Facts, typed out.

Liver

Can Slim Metrix cause liver damage?

It could, but it would be rare. Green tea extract, one of the eight blend ingredients, is a well-established cause of liver injury, with more than 100 published cases (LiverTox: green tea).

Cases usually showed up 1 to 6 months after starting. Europe's food safety agency saw liver enzymes rise at 800 mg of EGCG a day or more (EFSA: safety of green tea catechins).

Bars are drawn to scale; a bar over 100% is capped at full length. Zinc and chromium are the only ingredients with printed amounts. The 8 blend ingredients share 276 mg with no individual weights, so berberine and EGCG are shown at their largest possible amount: the real amounts are smaller, and if the blend were split equally each ingredient would be about 34.5 mg.

Blood sugar

Can Slim Metrix cause low blood sugar?

It can, mainly if you take insulin, a sulfonylurea or other glucose-lowering medicine. Three of its ingredients may add to the effect of those drugs.

Chromium may add to insulin or metformin (NIH ODS: chromium fact sheet). Alpha-lipoic acid can add to diabetes medicines and lists low blood sugar as a side effect (MSK About Herbs: alpha-lipoic acid). Korean ginseng might lower blood sugar too.

  • A low is usually a reading below 70 mg/dL, with shakiness, hunger or dizziness (NIDDK: low blood glucose).
  • Never cut a prescribed medicine to make room for a supplement.

If something feels off

What should I do if Slim Metrix gives me a side effect?

Stop taking it and call your doctor or pharmacist. If symptoms are severe, get urgent care.

  1. Stop the capsules

    Stopping is the simplest test.

  2. Bring the bottle to your doctor

Show all ten ingredients, not the six named in ads, and say when you started.

  3. Ask about your liver

Green tea injury tends to appear in the first six months, so ask whether a blood test makes sense.

  4. Call about a refund

Within 60 days, call +1 (855) 482-1597 with your order ID.

What the label skips

Does the Slim Metrix label have a safety warning?

No. The brand's Supplement Facts graphic shows no caution panel, no storage line and no company name (Slim Metrix label graphic).

The sales page footer is the only place we found safety advice: see a physician first if you are pregnant, nursing, on medication or living with a medical condition (Sales page, quickslimstep.com/frt).

FAQ

Slim Metrix side effect questions

Does Slim Metrix have caffeine?

The label does not say. It lists a green tea leaf extract standardized to polyphenols, catechins and EGCG, but gives no caffeine amount. Green tea naturally contains caffeine (NCCIH: green tea), so if you are sensitive to it, ask the order desk whether the extract is decaffeinated before you order.

Can Slim Metrix upset my stomach?

It can. Milk thistle can cause stomach upset, cayenne can irritate the stomach, and alpha-lipoic acid can cause nausea (MSK About Herbs: cayenne). If your stomach stays upset, stop the capsules and tell your doctor or pharmacist what you took and when it started.

Can Slim Metrix keep me awake at night?

It might. Trouble sleeping is the most common side effect of Korean ginseng (NCCIH: Asian ginseng), and the label does not say whether the green tea extract holds caffeine. Taking the capsule in the morning, as the label graphic suggests, is the simplest way to lower the chance.

Is Slim Metrix suitable in pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

No. Berberine can harm newborns and may worsen infant jaundice, so it should not be used in pregnancy or breastfeeding (NCCIH: goldenseal and berberine). Cayenne should be avoided at those times as well. If you are trying to get pregnant, skip it and talk with your doctor.

Can I take Slim Metrix if I have kidney disease?

Ask your kidney doctor first. Banaba has little safety research, and one case report linked its corosolic acid to kidney injury in a person whose kidneys were already weak and who also took diclofenac (Miura et al.: banaba and corosolic acid (review)). One report is not proof, but it is reason enough to ask.

Is it safe to take Slim Metrix with Ozempic or Wegovy?

No one has studied that combination. Slim Metrix is not a GLP-1 drug, and several of its ingredients may add to glucose-lowering medicines. Tell the doctor who prescribes your GLP-1 medicine before you add any supplement, and never use one in place of the other.
